We won two medals!
- Cup finalists (final still to be played).
- 2nd in the Premier
League (champions if we had won 5 more points in the final set of either
of our two defeats - that’s 5 points out of 1281 played, or a margin of
0.4% !).
Positives
- A well-balanced and talented squad of 11 players
- Tactical awareness: playing to our strengths / opponents weaknesses
- Better attended and more effective team training
- Assimilated 4 new players into the squad
- Mentally strong in close sets (2-point margin), winning 7 of 7
- Reception and defence improved.
Negatives
- Two early defeats before our new squad settled
- Serious injury to Craig R.
Next season
- New players settled, younger average age.
- Craig R moved away and we may lose some players to NVL
- Serving wins matches, so let’s keep improving
- Need to keep working on reception and block
