1) RWBVC is a great volley ball club !
Nice people from every corner of the planet, young and less young. This
is volleyball !!! And we need to keep this going !
2a) training sessions: I find it difficult
to start training while the B or the girls are already "hot". I would
ask if it was possible for the A team to be sometime first to train. On
top of being able to go to the pub earlier it has the benefit to be do a
team debrief on site instead of rushing home/shower/pub.
2b) training for kids: It is great that we
can have kids training ... I only brought Xavier and Hugo at training
once because. 18h-19h is bang in the middle of there eat/read/cool down
routine before going back to school on Monday. I don't have a solution, I
am just pointing an issue.
2c) Next year pre-season matches. We could contact team from outside Wiltshire for couple of 5 setters
3) the Aces need to recruit. Jorg's
absence meant that we were only 8 players (max) this year. we were lucky
to have no other injuries. Personally I am planning to commit to the
Mavericks next year as well as with Bassett and I may not be able to do
all the fixtures (on top of working away!)
4) Working in Germany means that it is
difficult for me to take on any full time commitments but I am very
interested in coaching volleyball. I would be more than happy to take
training sessions time to time for any of the club's team.
5) The sport centre put the heating on quite high for the Tai Kwan Do ( I believe ). Maybe they could turn it down after 8pm ?

I would like to thank the committee for managing the club, organisation, trainings, information, finance.
I shall focus on training sessions, I do not think I have been playing volley with Bassett this year.
- 3 hours training session, sometimes extended to 4 hours but the first
hour was for very young beginners, I wonder if this was the best use of
the hall
- 4/5 teams to train: Aces, Bees, SWL, WVL, Juniors. Although I understand WVL and juniors have merged
- Many Sundays used for games
This resulted on average the A team training once a month or 1.5 times a
month maximum over 6 months (October to March), September was for
everyone, April is for everyone.
I believe the B team is in the same position.
I do not think one can feel motivated when there is one session a month,
I must say that sometimes I did not attend as the training was the same
day as NVL game.
I do not know how the club can progress without more regular sessions.
One option would have been to merge some sessions (A and B together;
ladies together).
The A team is a small team compared with the B team, last time we were
only 4 at the A team session, so the session was not very productive and
I do not think it was best use of the hall, however the B team stayed
so there was a large team.
I have also noticed sometimes that there were very few local ladies
attending the sessions, again making not the best use of the hall.
If there are 4 hours sessions, an option could be 2 hours for ladies, 2 hours for men.
I am not sure if the club can carry-on with so many teams.
Anyway, I shall be coming to the remaining sessions to have fun.
Thanks for your dedication
