My job as Head Coach is to plan the Sunday evening programme (see Chairman’s report) so we cater for all our teams and players, and to support our coaches and teams.
Juniors
We have a very enthusiastic bunch of junior players aged 9-15 years who enjoy their volleyball and achieved lots of success this season:
Vicky (age 15) – England U16 trial, RWB SW League team
Kasper (11) – SW junior grand prix U14 champion, RWB Wilts League Team
Oriele (15) – SW junior training squad, RWB SW League team
Charlotte (15) – SW junior training squad, RWB SW League team
Maisie (13) – SW junior training squad, RWB Wilts League team
Congratulations to all of them!
Women
Our Wiltshire Ladies & Junior League team (including several developing players) improved every time they played and had many close matches against top teams that included national and regional league players. Well done Elena, Alena, Charlotte, Maisie, Kasper, Oriele, Sam and Donna:

Our SW Women’s League team was rebuilding this season after several experienced players moved away or had babies, so our performance level dipped from previous campaigns. Our squad was a little too small for intensive triangular matches, but this gave development opportunities to three 15-year olds who played regularly. The whole team made good progress through the season and created a solid foundation for next season. Vicky was nominated as MVP by our opponents most often (7 times), then Mirella (4 times). The season ended on a high as the team stormed to 7th place out of 12 teams in the Exeter Ladies Challenge. Credit to Donna, Vicky, Mirella, Zuzana, Kat, Oriele, Giorgia, Charlotte, Alena:

Men
In summer 2014 our entire men’s A team left the club for a variety of reasons, leaving us with just one team (our former B team) in the Wiltshire League Premier Division this season. After a shaky start the team spirit and performance steadily improved, becoming more competitive in the league and reaching the Dave Kinder Cup semi-final. Our lowly league position doesn’t tell the whole story of some very close matches, and we actually won more matches and sets than last season! Thanks to Irwin (coach), Mark, Michael, Dave, Mohsen, James, Zafer, Igors, Tim, Andrew, Phil (plus Donna and Oriele who played once each):
