Recruitment and Publicity
We continue to use the internet,
through the club web site, as our principal source of publicity. The
2012 Olympics gave us a huge spike of interest at the start of last
season. Some of those players have stayed with us as full club members.
The site gets about 900 visitors per
month (up from 800 last year). They see about 12,000 pages/month (about
the same as last year’s 12,000). The forums are the most read pages by a
huge margin.
Membership
I am concerned that the club has no
single list of its current members. I think this is a weakness in our
administration, especially for insurance and Volleyball
England purposes. Were we challenged to produce evidence that a
particular person was/or was not a member, especially were they a member
on a specific date, I'm not sure that we could do it.
Wiltshire Volleyball Association
We continued to run the Mixed Leagues, for the WVA, this season.
Wiltshire Leagues
We registered six players for the Aces Team in the Premier Division -
the minimum allowed. We registered 18 (11 last year) players for the
Bees, in Division 1, and 6 (12 last year) players for the Ladies and
Juniors. There is no restriction on playing above your registered
division. We were able to run the 'B' team but we had to share players
with the 'A' team for a number of matches.
