This season we were promoted to the Premier Division . A division that
would challenge us all as individual players and as a team. I set a goal
at the start of the season to maintain a place in the premier division
for next year.
We didn't win a match but we won some sets, and weren't easy
opponents. We played our final match in the division to avoid relegation
and although we played well Salisbury were better, and I wish them all
the best for next year.
The big positive from this past season is that we developed as a
team and as individual players; and that in itself is an achievement.
Some players have developed sufficiently to feed into the A team next
season as it rebuilds.
On reflection I dont think we should feel too down as it may not be a
bad thing to play in div 1 next year. It gives us a chance to win a few
matches and continue to develop new and existing players who are not
ready for the Premier division yet.
I feel confident that we can further improve and will bounce back
into the Premier Division again. The squad has been great and it has
been a pleasure watching players develop and grow with the team.
Bees training sessions have been well attended, but for next year I think we should aim to train or play once a week.
